This article analyzes Polar Silk Road from a regional angle. This paper analyzes advantages and challenges of Northeast’s integration into Polar Silk Road, and puts forward several suggestions.
The first research novelty is that it helps Northeast finish industrial transformation. Northeast China has developed heavy industry, but for a long time it has heavily relied on the second industry, that the technological innovation ability is a main shortcoming. The Polar Silk Route passes not only Russia, but also some European countries, where scientific and technological strength is very strong. Therefore, continuous impetus will be injected into economic growth in northeast part of China.
The second novelty (innovation point) is authors mentioned transportation network. Railway transportation center represented by Harbin, former Middle East railway. Contemporary harbors, like Dalian, Lvshun, Yingkou etc ???????????. And in total 26 airports in northeast, which implies there’s a comprehensive transportation system including land, waterway and air, to undertake construction of polar silk road.
The third novelty is that authors mentioned an advantage of talents, because in general seldom had people reckoned that Northeast have many talents, since poor economic condition hard to detain them. Although universities are not famous enough around China, they still have strong comprehensive strength on international trade, Russian language, heavy industry etc. Objectively speaking, authors also pointed out northeast is lack of talents well knowing marine knowledge.
One shortcoming is that authors didn’t give a general conclusion. Instead, in the last part of the paper a series of countermeasures were provided, including increasing regional consensus on China’s northeast development, establishing a high level of open economy, improving diversified export routes and promoting Dalian as a Northeast Asia International Shipping Center.
